Currently under construction, this project began in the Spring of 2007. WSDOT (Washington State Department of Transportation) has formed a partnership with the City of Bremerton, Kitsap Transit, the Federal Highway Administration and the Federal Transit Administration for this project. WSDOT is the contracting agency. BASELINE Engineering, Inc. is subcontracted by Tri-State Construction, Inc. for the roadway & structure construction survey for this project. The project's primary objective is to construct a 959-ft. long underground tunnel to separate the ferry terminal traffic from the downtown Bremerton pedestrian and motorist activity in the downtown core. Besides construction staking, BASELINE is also involved in settlement monitoring of structures adjacent to the tunnel excavation. This project is scheduled for completion in 2009.
