Madison Park recently received zoning approval from the City of Tacoma to develop a large Medical-Business Center near Allenmore Hospital in the central area of Tacoma. Madison Park framed a longstanding debate in Tacoma regarding preservation of open space versus dense urban development. BASELINE developed several amendments to the City's Comprehensive Plan to resolve this issue. Eventually, a large portion of the site was sold to the Park District as a nature conservancy addition to Snake Lake Park with the balance being rezoned for 75,000 square feet of medical office space in a campus-like configuration.
